The outgoing and the newly elected CUHCS committee combined efforts for the final CUHCS event of term! We celebrated the start of the holidays with an afternoon of colour on Queens' Green -- bigger and better than ever before, including full body suits and lots more paint!
March 12, 2012 - We welcomed all our membership to elect a new committee for 2012-13. The event was well attended, and following a round-up of the year's events from (ex!) CUHCS President Nikhila Ravi, a new committee was duly elected.
An explosion of Indian culture, dance, music and comedy packed in the biggest Asian cultural show in East Anglia! This year’s show featured a wide variety of cultural acts, from dance performances to bands to a full-length student produced play.
February 26, 2012 - CUHCS celebrated Shivaratri with a puja led by our Hindu Chaplain, Dr Vick Krishnan. We were very privileged to welcome two very accomplished priests from Trichy (South India), and also the chair of the Hindu Council joining us all the way from Birmingham.
Februrary 17, 2012 - Different university national societies from all over the world met to offer a taste of their culture to visitors at the Cambridge International Celebration 2012.
February 6, 2012 - Cambridge University Hindu Cultural Society (CUHCS) hosted a fantastic talk on Cambridge University's project on rare Sanskrit Manuscripts by Dr. Vincenzo Vergiani from the Asian and Middle Eastern Faculty.
In conjunction with CU India Society's Republic Day celebrations, CUHCS helped run a fun evening consisting of musical performances from Blue Shakti, followed by Bollywood karaoke with everyone singing along to classics and modern hits!
January 26, 2012 - Requested by popular demand, we organized another Interfaith Debate with the Intercollegiate Christian Union and Buddhist Society, this time on the topic of 'Forgiveness'.
