Welfare Until this year, there has been no official chaplaincy within the University – however, weekly worship services (aartis) have, and will continue to occur at the Bharat Bhavan on Mill Road, which all are welcome to attend. This year, we are looking to found a permanent room for Hindus in Cambridge, to be maintained by us, which will contain pictures and/ or shrines of Gods and Goddesses, and will mainly be used for individual meditation/ quiet seating/ personal praying purposes within the opening hours. We are also considering holding daily Aartis at certain hours and odd-prayers on special occasions. The university has a Hindu Chaplain, Dr Vickneswaren Krishnan. Dr Vick can be contacted at chaplainvick@gmail.com. More information on the chaplain and the role she will play in the university can be found here. For further information or suggestions/ help that you are willing to offer with regards to any of the issues on this page, please feel free to contact (Colleges and Welfare Officer) at welfare@cuhcs.org.uk. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
