Local Community Life for Cambridge University students provides many great challenges, not least of all living away from home. For the Hindu students, the existence of ICCA helps them feel very much part of the local community. The Indian Cultural and Community Association of Cambridge (ICCA) is a registered charity which promotes Indian culture within Cambridge by hosting a varied programme of social, cultural, educational and religious events throughout the year for the benefit of all the inhabitants of Cambridge. Many students particularly enjoy the programmes during Navratri and Diwali, which give us the opportunity to celebrate the festivals as we would do at home. There is also a weekly aarti performed every Sunday at 6.30pm and there are several dance and musical performances and recitals right through the year. The ICCA has supported CUHCS ever since our creation in 1991 We would like to thank them for their assistance, advice and endless enthusiasm in helping us make Cambridge a better place to live for Hindu Students. The vast majority of ICCA events take place at 'Bharat Bhavan' on Mill Road. It is a 15 minute walk from town centre and can be reached easily by walking south along Mill Road (adjacent to Kelsey Kerridge) and turning left immediately before the railway bridge.
The ICCA can be contacted on icca91@hotmail.com | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
